Pet Haven is Hiring a Volunteer Engagement Manager! 10/23/2025 By Kerry S Volunteer Engagement Manager Pet Haven’s Volunteer Engagement Manager is a fun, fast-paced, exciting position where you help save and change pets' lives every day by engaging others to support the organization's operations. This position is key to Pet Haven's ability to do what we do and is responsible for recruiting, responding to, and engaging new and existing volunteers. Pet Haven is volunteer-driven, and the Volunteer Engagement Manager schedules and conducts monthly orientations, as well as promotes events that require volunteer participation. The Volunteer Engagement Manager should have a passion for volunteer management, enjoy engaging and inspiring others to get involved and stay involved with Pet Haven, be an enthusiastic professional, and be able to build lasting positive relationships with volunteers and organizational supporters. Roles Description: Organizes, coordinates, and manages the recruitment of volunteers at Pet Haven. Checks the volunteer inbox daily and works with our “volunteer” Volunteer Coordinator to ensure the inbox is kept up to date. Make sure all volunteers to ASM and include all important documents. Public records check, volunteer application, code of conduct, and any codes or labels. Updates our website and all volunteer recruitment sites weekly. Works with social, civic, and local organizations to develop partnerships, where appropriate, to develop and/or utilize volunteers. Develops and implements training and onboarding plans for volunteers, The manager checks in with volunteers regularly and assigns new volunteers a mentor to help them learn their new role. Schedules and hosts in-person orientations at our office Schedules and plans volunteer appreciation events. Recommends and develops ongoing volunteer utilization. Develops and implements a ongoing volunteer recognition program Utilize social media and internal communications to recruit volunteers for social events. Builds a team to support the position Covers 2 office shifts per week and one cat care shift per week. Qualifications and Skills: Passionate about animal rescue and mission-focused Has experience with volunteer management software, Google Docs, WordPress, MailChimp, Volunteer Management systems, and Social media Strong Leadership Skills Strong organizational skills Positive and compassionate communication style Ability to engage others and be an ambassador of Pet Haven A positive attitude and experience in conflict resolution Strong interpersonal and communication skills Compensation: $18-$21 per hour based on experience This position is a Hybrid hourly position (20-25 hours per week- ½ in person) with room to grow with Pet Haven! In-person office time will include covering 2 Saturdays a month, 2 Tuesdays a month, and one office shift a week!
