Bonnie- Volunteer Spotlight

Bonnie- Volunteer Spotlight

Bonnie has been a Pet Haven volunteer since April 2011 and is also a Pet Haven adopter! Most recently she started volunteering in the canine foster capacity, taking in litters of puppies. Bonnie provides great post-adoption support to adopters of her foster puppies, and engages her local community in the foster process to help socialize the little guys and gals who are lucky enough to call her “foster mom”.

Here’s a little more about Bonnie:

PH: What is the name of the people and animals in your home?

B: My husband Greg and our dogs Duchess and Bart. Duchess came as a respite foster for the weekend – that was six years ago! Bart was one of the first group of pups brought down from Red Lake 11 years ago. Both are Pet Haven alumni!

PH: Why did you decide to volunteer with Pet Haven?

B: We saw a post on Facebook about needing puppy fosters and thought it would be fun.

PH: What inspires you to volunteer with animals?

B: It’s for totally selfish reasons – helping animals makes me happy. Also with so much going on right now it was a bit of good to make the world just a little bit better.

PH: What is your most memorable volunteer experience?

B: Stumbling outside at 2 in the morning with three rascally pups who thought it was playtime!

PH: What is your favorite….

Animal? – Dog of course

Food? – Kiwi fruit

TV show? – Game of Thrones

Movie? – Sound of Music (totally cliche I know)

Band? – Bob Dylan’s touring band in 1991
