Cleo’s Glow Up – A Chow Chow learns what love is. 04/30/2021 By Kerry S Beauty or Beast? Cleo arrived at Pet Haven in rough shape physically and emotionally. She was surrendered and had been used for breeding. She did not know love. She was scared and aggressive. No one could touch her. When she arrived into our care we knew she would need time to heal and learn to trust. In her new foster home, her foster gave her the time she needed. She showed Cleo patience. Allowed her decompression time. Worked on trust-building, and teaching Cleo to take treats from her hand. Slowly Cleo learned she was safe. She blossomed in just a few days. Her transformation was astounding. She was just waiting to be loved. This gal had a huge heart waiting to be filled. She is now accepting pets, getting a good bath, and grooming – something she has never had. And best of all…..she giving kisses!! Look at her now! Beautiful! She is building trust every day, meeting new people with success, and embracing what a well-loved dog is all about. We are so thrilled at her progress and so very appreciative of the work her foster has done. It’s not easy but so rewarding.
