Dog and cat adoptions this weekend! 07/19/2013 By andrew The dog division will have an adoption this Saturday, July 20 from 11-1. Medium and large dogs can be seen at the PetCo in Richfield. Small dogs can be seen at the Chuck & Don’s near Lake Calhoun. Some of the dogs attending will be: Chi Chi Kevin Rico – puppy breath alert! Shawnee Brownie Tiny Stop by to see who else will be there! Cat Adoptions are Sun., July 21 from 1-3 p.m. at the PetCo in Richfield and at the Chuck & Don’s in Edina. Many cats and kittens available for adoption! Some of those attending are: Rosie Rosa Buddy Calvin Harold Etta Beans Punkin Petey Pedro Yedrin Joran Adopt a cat and free up foster home space to bring in another one! There are always more waiting on the streets, at impound, at other shelters. Aren’t you glad that Pet Haven stands behind the pets they put up for adoption? Since mid June, Pet Haven cats have had 3 returns. Why? Lack of interest by owner, moving, foreclosure. This is the most returns we’ve had since the economy went sour several years ago, our average is one or fewer a year. The dog division also gets returns. Live style changes, loss of interest, moving. The reasons are varied. We hope the animals we place are forever placements but we don’t read people right, they change their minds and uncontrolled circumstances happen to all of us.
