Sponsor a Foster Animal

Sponsor a Foster Animal

You can make a profound difference by sponsoring a Pet Haven cat or dog! Many of our animals in foster homes have extensive medical needs, are with us for an extended period of time, or are harder to adopt for a variety of reasons.  Your support means that we can provide the care these animals deserve until they find their forever homes.

You can choose to sponsor a foster dog or cat in honor of a loved one, family member, or pet. If you select this option, Pet Haven will mail a hand-crafted card with a personalized message and pawprint to acknowledge your sponsorship.

Cleo
In just 12 hours, Cleo's medical care had already accumulated to $1,600- but Pet Haven would not turn their back on this pretty gal. Cleo was surrendered to us after her mom could no longer afford the medical costs associated with Cleo. This was a terribly hard goodbye, with lots of tears. Although Cleo had been seen at a vet just a month prior to her surrender for an upset tummy, it was noted that she had a potbellied appearance when she arrived into Pet Haven. Moving to her foster care home on a Sunday, with hopes that if she had something easily treatable, we could potentially reunite this gal with her mom. We are devastated to say that Cleo collapsed in her new foster home her first night, and was rushed to the University of Minnesota.
We learned that Cleo was not absorbing any protein, her calcium was almost nonexistent, and they found a large amount of fluid in her abdomen. The medical team quickly ran tests to rule out what it could be to save Cleo's life. Cleo is in the amazing care of a long-time foster and staff member. We will not turn our back on Cleo. Her medical costs continue to rise, with estimates as high as $3,600! If you are interested in sponsoring Cleo- donate below!

Maverick
Maverick is a goofy 1 year old husky who came into rescue in late June! He was at a local city shelter and not much was known about him. His foster noticed a significant sway and intense stiffness in his hind legs when he walked. Pet Havens vet team evaluated him and found significant laxity in his hips. We had X-rays taken and found that he has severe hip dysplasia in both hips. He is on daily pain medication and hip supplements. He is going to be undergoing FHO hip surgeries on both hips. One hip will be done at a time with at least 6weeks or more of recovery in between. He will need post op rehab after 2 weeks of healing. He has a long journey of surgery and rehab ahead of him. He has a big, happy personality that puts a smile on everyone’s face!
