Since 1952 Pet Haven has been working with adopters to find the right home for every animal in our care. We have been “Match-Making” for over 68 years and have found loving homes for thousands of companion animals.
We do not have a shelter. All our animals are in loving foster homes. Our foster program benefits both the animals in our care and their future families. We have over 300 foster families that prepare animals for adoption by giving them a chance to live in a home where they can fully express their personality, work to overcome fears, recover from trauma, and receive needed training giving them a better chance at a forever home.
We can’t adopt our way out of pet overpopulation. We address homelessness at the root through our spay/neuter initiatives. We were the first organization in Minnesota to require spay/neuter prior to adoption and have continued to support efforts to reduce overpopulation through programs and grants. More than 5,000 animals have been altered through our grant program.
Volunteers are key to helping Pet Haven to achieve its mission by helping to lead and support all core functions of the organization. We have over 300 volunteers and this keeps our administrative costs down so your donations truly go directly to animals who need help.
