At Pet Haven, we strive to offer the best care possible to our pets. This includes medical care, nutrition, and good behavioral health. We believe kittens (and cats) are happier and more well adjusted when paired with another kitten or cat they can learn from and seek companionship with.

We encourage adopting in pairs or to a home that has a resident cat (or dog) that can be a companion to a kitten. Solo Kitten Syndrome is real and we help many kittens and adult cats living alone that have behavior problems as a result of being solos.

Some of these issues can be:

• Excessive neediness towards humans
• Meowing constantly and plaintively
• Obsessively suckling on your clothing, your hair, your other pets
• Biting you when you try to walk away
• Destructive behavior like chewing wires, eating the paint off surfaces that smell like humans (doorways, cabinets)
• Going to the bathroom on the human’s bed, pillow, couch, or in their shoes

The best way to combat this is to adopt in pairs!
