The Pet Haven Intake Manager is responsible for managing and building the animal intake department, along with maintaining, executing animal intake protocols, including best practices, and pulling weekly reports to make sure all animals have been properly entered into our system . The Intake Manager will provide supervision and training of volunteer intake coordinators to ensure they have the support and tools needed to successfully place animals in foster homes

Responsibilities include:

• Manages all intake teams - shelter, reservation, and owner surrender
• First point of contact for all intake questions
• Ensures processes are running smoothly and procedures are followed
• Reports to Operations Director
• Ensures that transfers are completed in ASM.
• Pulls Weekly reports to make sure all animals are entered into the system currently. This includes making sure all surrenders have a release of ownership form listed in media.
• Pulls monthly data such as number of animals taken from each intake source, medical costs per source, etc.
• Gives recommendations to leadership on intake flow v. organizational and volunteer needs
• Schedules and leads monthly intake meetings
• Onboards new intake coordinators
• Fills in any positions that are vacant and works with Volunteer Manager to fill positions
• Maintains a positive attitude and collaborative position
• Manages Animal Flow and works with leadership to identify intake capacity and stay within guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Rescue experience preferred- volunteering, fostering, or paid staff.
• Animals Shelter Management System (ASM) experience is a plus but not required!
• Intermediate computer skills including daily access to email and Facebook Must have timely and professional communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with others of different personalities
• Good decision making skills
• Knowledge and experience of animal behavior and health issues

This is a Hybrid position and requires 1 full or 1 half office days.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
