Hi Pet Haven,
We meant to send an update on Captain and George around the 6 month mark but failed to do so. They have become such a big part of our daily lives and we still feel so lucky to have them. I'm sure their previous owner is still thinking about them (we know we would) and so wanted to email you in case you can hopefully convey this to him/her.
Both cats clearly love to be outside so we got a cat tent that's super easy to pop up and take down. Before winter started, they'd hang out in the tent 3-4 times a day. They meow at the door to let us know they want to go out and know to go straight into the tent. They also like exploring the yard in their harnesses/leashes. When we open the drawer with the leashes, they both get excited and come running.
Captain is at my side as I write this. Both cats are giant love bugs. They both like to have their bellies scratched! We keep reminding our kids that this is unusual for cats (so don't try it on others!). It's a sign that they were raised in a very loving, trustworthy home.
Captain likes to pull on our hands (especially if they're holding a coffee mug) and determinedly lick them.  George's favorite place to lounge is directly in front of the fireplace. When he hears the clicking sound of it turning on, he comes sprinting (at George pace). Often Captain will join him there to cuddle and wash, which occasionally turns into brotherly wrestling.
George joins the kids at (or on) the piano with they sit down practice. This is so funny to us! From the comfort of a lap, Captain read the first 5 Harry Potter books with us (no joke) and watched the movies (my daughter shielded his eyes during the scary parts).
They are such wonderful cats and we've developed a good routine. They make us laugh with their idiosyncrasies and distinct purrs . We would want their previous owner to know that we are giving them a lot of love (in the form of pets, kisses, playing and cuddling) every day. They are so special to us.
