The direct impact of generosity

 

GiveMN, Give to the Max Day on November 16th, 2023, and early giving has begun!

 

Give to the Max Day links donors with like-minded missions and values to organizations that are working to make Minnesota a better place. GiveMN brings innovation, energy, enthusiasm, and fresh ideas to Minnesota’s generosity.

 

In 2022 Pet Haven was able to raise over $40,000 as a result of the engagement and awareness the Give to the Max campaign brought to our organization. These generous donations truly make a difference and our 1005 rescued pets last year depended on them. 2023 has seen many challenges in the nonprofit sectors but the animal welfare industry has been drastically affected. We are seeing the cost of care rise dramatically, and the need for help whether it is for stray abandoned pets or owners in crisis who need help, the need is greater than we have ever seen. We knew we needed to rethink how we were operating to be able to meet the increased needs.

We needed to lower our cost of care to be able to help more pets in crisis. Our past model was one of outsourcing our veterinary care which resulted in approximately $30,000 a month in animal care costs averaging about $360 per pet in medical care. In 2023 we pivoted. Through the gift of a generous supporter who believed in our mission and vision, we were able to open up our own surgical suite and move to in-house care resulting in monthly animal care costs of under $17,000! By making this shift we can change more lives! Join us in this life-changing work.
