Ollie: Making a difference at the county jail 10/18/2017 By andrew I had dreamt about having my first dog for years, and those dreams became a reality in January of 2017. I stayed with a friend, who is a foster for Pet Haven, at the time she was fostering a sweet, year old, mixed breed male named King (now known as Ollie). I instantly fell in love with Ollie and knew his calm temperament would be a great fit to my life. From the start he has been eager to please, making training a breeze and in a few months, we had crate training, walking on and off leash, along with various tricks mastered! Ollie loves anyone and everyone that gives him attention including my five small nieces and nephews. His love for people sparked an idea to bring him to work with me at the local county jail where I work as a corrections officer. While at work inmates are allowed to interact with Ollie, changing their moods drastically. I love seeing how his wagging tail can turn around even the worst day for some people. I can't thank Pet Haven enough for bringing Ollie into my life, I truly believe I needed him as much as he needed me."
